**About the organisation**:
**Jesuit Social Services is a social change organisation working to build a just society where all people can live to their full potential.** We reflect on the critical factors shaping our contemporary world; the social, political and economic contexts, and we adapt our practice to work with those most in need.**:
Since 1977, Jesuit Social Services has provided services to some of the most disadvantaged in our community.

We place a high priority on advocacy and are a leader in policy development and research.

**About the role**:

- Supporting participants with intersectional involvement with the criminal justice and homelessness service systems to address their support needs and to work towards a transformative life trajectory.
- Supporting participants with reducing their risk of homelessness, reoffending and recidivism by proactively engaging them with meaningful activities
- Supporting participants with addressing underlying contributing factors to their current circumstances and being led by their self-identified stage of change

Competitive remuneration, plus salary packaging benefit, is offered together with ongoing professional and career development as well as opportunities for personal growth.

**What Jesuit Social Services can offer you**:

- An organisation that lives its values, through its day to day work

- A competitive salary plus salary packaging benefits
- Generous leave

**About the program**:
**Next Steps**

Next Steps is an initiative funded through the Homelessness Innovation Action Project by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) | Homes Victoria. The program provides intensive case management support from within a therapeutic framework for 17 highly vulnerable young people, between 16-24 years old, who intersect with the Youth Justice or Adult Justice Systems. Next Steps provides intensive, multi component case management support that addresses the overlapping issues of homelessness and offending. With a strong focus on strengthening relationships between the young person and their family and/or significant others, highly vulnerable young people at risk of homelessness are supported to develop life skills, address offending behaviours and link into individually tailored employment, training or learning pathways.

Underpinning our approach is an assertive case management model which includes:

- Meaningful engagement with the young person in developing a relationship of trust
- Motivational engagement in the service of behaviour change
- Developing and strengthening relationships with family
- Developing life skills including connections to family/positive adults, peer relationships, recreational and therapeutic services, community, and employment and education opportunities.

**Dillon House**

Dillon House provides residential 24/7 supported accommodation for three young people up to 25 years old, who lack skills to reside in independent accommodation or who exhibit behaviour (i.e. high-risk drug use) which would place them at risk in independent accommodation. Dillon House offers a safe and welcoming home where participants are supported to develop independent living skills including cooking, meal planning, shopping, budgeting, and banking.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**About you**:

- Tertiary qualification/s and/or relevant experience in field
- Demonstrated appropriate case management practices with participants
- Ability to work collaboratively across services and disciplines
- Engage productively in staff supervision and staff training
- Demonstrated knowledge of homelessness and the homelessness service system

**How to apply**:

- Upload your resume and cover letter incorporating your responses to the Key Selection Criteria from the Position Description.

**Applications close at 5.00pm on Friday 14**th** June 2024.**

**Jesuit Social Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion. We celebrate and welcome all people regardless of ethnicity, cultural background, age, gender, sexuality, disability or religious affiliation.**
