Senior Clinical Dietitian (Level 3)
- Full Time - Temporary (12 month until December 2023)

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced clinical dietitian to join the Nutrition Department at the Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH). NBH provides care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional allied health teams, midwives, nurses, doctors and staff.

As a Senior Clinical Dietitian (Level 3) you will make an impact by providing thorough nutrition assessment and intervention to patients enabling them to meet their nutritional requirements for recovery and improve their health outcomes. You will assist the Manager of Dietetics to provide leadership and direction to the Nutrition and Dietetic Service at Northern Beaches Hospital including participating in clinical supervision, departmental management and service development.

You will
- Provide a high standard of clinical care to admitted inpatients
- Work in partnership with Medical Officers and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide assessment and evidence based interventions
- Provide dietary counseling and education to a variety of different patient populations
- Provide clinical supervision to junior dietetic staff and students on clinical placement
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement

Selection Criteria:
1. Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent that meets the requirements for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia
2. Recent and extensive acute care clinical dietetics knowledge and experience (minimum Level 2, including food service) and ability to take leadership in clinical decision making
3. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team whilst maintaining a high volume workload in a fast paced environment
4. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
5. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
6. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and/or service evaluation processes
7. Demonstrated leadership skills within a dietetic team
8. Ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice.
