As a key member of the leadership team, you will be at the forefront of innovative software development of our image-based, optical radar product,

This newly created dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in a high performing environment with leaders in the field. This is a fast-paced R&D environment, where you will play a key role in people managing a team whilst contributing to policies & procedures, product ownership and strategy. You will be the intermediary between Senior Leadership and your team, working closely with Product Manager and the Software Architect to drive the project forward.

**_Role Accountabilities:_**
- Day to day management of a high performing team of 9 Engineers. This may consist of assisting with hiring, performance reviews, career development and mentoring.
- Working with a variety of internal stakeholders from CTO/COO to Junior Engineers in a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Product Ownership and providing clarity around backlog prioritisation and ticket allocation.
- Adopting and championing good development practices including linting, integration testing.
- Working with the Leadership team on strategy, policies and procedures, resource allocation and project timelines.

**Experience and Qualifications required**:

- Strong communication skills communicating up and down the business. A conduit between Senior Management and the Software Engineering team.
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Python and Bash.
- Familiarity with multiple paradigms including OOP, FP, and data-oriented design.
- Good high-level understanding of infrastructure and networking. Previous experience with managing a DevOps resource highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in modern systems development & CI tools such as Jira Confluence, git, github-actions, cross-compilation, automated quality control (test automation and linting).
- Demonstrated ability to juggle conflicting priorities and timelines along with track project deliveries.
- Experience in Ownership of a Product and strong understanding of the full Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC). Exposure to a Prototyping environment is nice to have.
- A good understanding of how to build software that is scalable, secure, extendable, and maintainable.
