**About us**

**The opportunity**

Our Queensland Planning and Approvals team provides planning, environmental management and environmental assessment services to our clients. Our clients are in the water, transport, power/renewables, resources and government sectors.

The team works closely with engineering and technical disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects. We’re involved at the earliest stages of a project, such as business cases and feasibility studies, to securing planning, development and environmental approvals and subsequent post-approvals management plans and advice to designers and our clients. We also assist clients by preparing approval strategies for their projects.

As a **Statutory Planner**, your key focus will be to prepare and deliver planning and environmental approvals for a wide range of projects. The projects include roads, water infrastructure such as pipelines, pumping stations and reservoirs, landfills and resource recovery, pumped hydro projects and renewable energy. As we are part of a national team, there will be opportunities for you to work with teams in other states on planning projects.

You will ideally be based in **Brisbane**, though we're open to the **Gold Coast **or **Sunshine Coast** where we have offices. We work flexibly and offer the option to **work from home **two days per week, if desired.

Day to day you will:

- Provide planning inputs into large scale infrastructure and transport projects
- Collaborate with clients and regulatory authorities, and foster great relationships through accurate and timely planning advice
- Assist with the preparation of proposals to secure new work for the team.

- Coomera Connector Stage 1 North
- Big-T Pumped Hydropower Energy Storage project
- Water and waste programs for local authorities and water utilities.

**What we'll love about you**

You’re likely to have 3+ years of statutory planning, urban and regional planning, approvals or impact assessments experience, particularly on transport, water or renewable energy projects.

In addition, you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in planning and be eligible for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia
- Strong knowledge of Queensland planning legislation, policy and reform directions
- Project management or project coordination experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a consulting environment
- A passion for planning issues and desire to help shape outcomes in urban and regional areas
