Our Cross-Domain Computing Solutions Department is responsible for developing Body Computer Modules, Secure Central Gateways and Vehicle Security Products. With capabilities covering end-to-end the complete Development and New Product Introduction process we are managing and implementing global platform projects, tailored for our Original Equipment customers.
**Job Description**:
We are currently offering an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Section Manager - Hardware Engineering. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at our Head Office in Clayton and may involve occasional domestic and international travel.
Position responsibilities will include:
- Effectively leading and managing the Hardware Electronics Engineering team to achieve team, operating unit, division and Bosch’s objectives.
- Directly contributing to the future success of the Hardware team in Australia.
- Liaising with internal and external customers and stakeholders for all HW Electronics work
- Developing engineering competence and best practice methods with the Hardware Engineering team.
- Planning, developing, and implementing actions to improve product designs, reduce costs, improve quality, reliability and increase productivity.
- Responsibility for the acquisition support and development of products in-line with Bosch quality procedures.
**Qualifications**:
We are looking for a forward-thinking leader with the ability to work across multiple business units and time zones, manage diverse topics and priorities, and establish effective relationships across all levels of an organisation.
To be considered for this position you are required to meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant field.
- Hold a valid Engineering Registration with the Builders Licensing Authority.
- Significant experience in the Automotive industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of traditional hardware development lifecycle as well as agile methods.
- Understanding of automotive industry processes and practical OEM experience.
- Notable experience leading a technical team in a direct or project capacity.
- Significant experience with the design and development of electronics products and/or components.
- Strong resource planning experience with demonstrated ability in delivery with limited resources.
- Demonstrated experience quoting, planning, tracking and re-scoping a hardware project.
- Demonstrated experience leading development at a product level.
- Comprehensive knowledge of traditional hardware development lifecycle as well as agile methods.
- Ability to form strong working relationships with international stakeholders.
- Ability to grow and utilise internal and external networks to achieve department goals.
- The ability to drive and implement future technology.
- Able to present high quality presentations to customers.
- Be self-driven, proactive, accountable with a passion for excellence.
- Proficient in MS Office & SAP.
Other desirable skills:
- Experience using failure analysis and design review tools / methods such as FMEA and DRBFM.
- Experience in working in multi-national teams and multiple OEMs.
- Experience with toolchains such as: IBM ALM suite, DOORS, JIRA, Vector CANoe, Vector CANape
