This position is based in Canberra. The role will feature domestic and international travel.

**ROLE**

The primary role of the Officer Safety Capability Team Leader is to enable ASIS’s Officer Safety operational

work which includes the delivery of technology and practical solutions on a tactical, strategic and

enterprise level. As part of the broader Officer Safety area you will manage a small team tasked with the

development and enablement of Officer Safety capability to support ASIS operations globally. The

deployment of officer safety effects requires the testing, construction, deployment and maintenance of

Officer Safety capabilities and systems that comprise tactical voice and data communications, visualisation

networks and systems and alerting and location devices. You will also plan deployment schedules and

work procedures to ensure officer safety effects delivery is undertaken efficiently and in a cost effective

manner. Broader corporate and partner engagement will be required in the development of enterprise
- wide safety and security solutions.***

You will actively research and develop broader capability sets with the Officer Safety operational space. The
Capability Team Leader is responsible for major project management for ASIS capability development,
premises planning and design, Operations Centre management, enterprise level solutions and broader
Officer Safety strategy supporting operational deployments. The Officer Safety Capability staff will be

responsible for significant infrastructure and systems management, procurement, research and
development and managing Operations Centres.

The position is constantly evolving to support the broader technical objectives and system integration
across the ASIS Enterprise and Operational Enablement capability areas. You will exercise Team Leader
responsibilities which include supervising and guiding other team members, operational planning, setting
tasks and priorities, managing workflows and building team capability through coaching, performance
feedback or the provision of training.

Excellent communications skills are essential for communicating technical concepts to a range of audiences
and customers. The role requires a dynamic team player who enjoys working variously with stakeholders,
team members and individually on projects. You will be able to meet tight deadlines and work to support
ASIS priorities.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS**

The following is an overview of key responsibilities and tasks:
Provide direct support to Officer Safety operational planning and deployments;
Manage infrastructure projects for operational monitoring at remote sites;
Manage installed and future Operations Centre infrastructure;
Manage IT equipment and a variety of hardware and software assets globally; and

Work closely with international partners, vendors and contractors to ensure OS systems are

resilient, secure and fit-for-purpose.
