**About the team**

The Student Life Division plays a key role in the shared strategic goal of a world-class student experience. The Student Life Division manages all aspects of the current student support services including, wellbeing, equity and accessibility, medical centre, international student support, health promotion and student accommodation.

The Living Room is a welcoming, inclusive, student-focused and peer-led space that promotes wellbeing through early intervention, peer support and low barrier access to UWA support services to encourage connection and belonging in the University Community.

**About the opportunity**

You will be responsible for providing oversight and guidance to the Wellbeing Advisor and Peer Supporters. You will deliver high-quality, confidential support to a diverse community of students to maximise student success. You will work closely with staff within Student Life and other areas of the University as appropriate.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

- Relevant degree qualification or demonstrated equivalent
- Substantial experience related to the provision of mental health support including suicide crisis and risk intervention
- Substantial experience in assessing risk and refer for appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Knowledge of appropriate liaison and referral pathways and current mental health research
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve and work productively as part of a team
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills specific to consultation, liaison, negotiation, provision of workshops and clinical service delivery
- Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines

**Note**: A special requirement of this role is to be currently registered with an associated professional organisation such as the Australian Association of Social Workers (Mental Health Social Worker) or membership of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) / ACA (Australian Counselling Association)
