**About the Opportunity**

This role provides the opportunity to achieve the best tree maintenance outcomes to improve the quality of our Municipality’s trees.

To achieve this, the position requires the following:

- To ensure that the management and maintenance of public trees throughout Strathfield is undertaken in an effective and responsive manner;
- Manage workload and contractors to achieve the efficient and effective delivery of tree management services in accordance with management plans, industry standards and budgets;
- Undertake general tree management including tree pruning, wood chipping and tree planting;
- Contribute to Councils Tree Inventory by collecting accurate data through Councils Asset Management System;
- Plan Councils tree replacement program and ensure new plantings meet industry standards
- Assist with tree risk and claims management and investigate, prepare and action technical reports concerning public liability claims;
- Provide effective WHS and risk management through proactive identification, prioritisation, treatment, monitoring and reporting of risks and compliance with legislation and guidelines;
- Audit works undertaken by contractors against Australian Standards.

**About You**
- Have relevant Tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture at Certificate III level (AQF Level 3)
- Qualifications in an industry recognised tree risk methodology (e.g. QTRA, TRAQ) **(DESIRABLE)**:

- Have extensive understanding of arboriculture techniques and practices
- Current NSW Class ‘MR’ Drivers Licence

**Salary and Conditions**

The salary range for this position is** **$71,999.83 to $82,723.58 p.a **(pro-rata if part-time)** dependent upon the applicant’s skills and experience. plus 10.5% super,
