The Bridging Program is a 6 month program for students who have completed the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery, Early Career Midwives and Midwives re-entering midwifery practice, working 64hrs per fortnight (0.84FTE). Four intakes are offered in 2024- February, April, July and October.

This program will be supported by Clinical Midwifery Educators and Clinical Support Midwives.
**Selection criteria
- to be considered for this role applicants (dependent on the category you belong to below) must satisfy the below**:
- Must be a Registered Nurse undertaking the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery in 2023
- Must be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife prior to commencement
- Must be eligible to work as a Registered Midwife in Australia
- Must have immunisation clearance prior to commencement (including evidence of COVID 19 vaccination)
- Must have graduated in the last 2 years but not had the opportunity to complete a graduate program or the opportunity to work across the pregnancy continuum post course completion
- Must be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
- Must be eligible to work as a Registered Midwife in Australia
- Must have immunisation clearance prior to commencement (including evidence of COVID 19 vaccination)
- Must be currently registered with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife or applied for re-entry registration
- Must have worked as Registered Midwife since graduating from the Bachelor of Midwifery/Graduate Diploma of Midwifery but have been out of practice for 2 or more years
- Must be eligible to work as a Registered Midwife in Australia
- Must have immunisation clearance prior to commencement (including evidence of COVID 19 vaccination)
