**About the Role**:
The Insurance and Financial Compliance Officer will be responsible for effectively managing insurance claims and supporting financial compliance. This role is key in maintaining financial integrity throughout claims processes and ensuring adherence to financial frameworks.

In this customer-facing position, you'll interact with the public, insurance providers, and various stakeholders with professionalism and diplomacy. Under the guidance of the Manager of Financial Compliance and Insurance, you will provide claims management advice based on state legislation and organisational procedures while performing additional financial compliance duties as required.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage and assess claims with accuracy, ensuring compliance.
- Reconciling payments, supporting financial processes, ensuring accuracy and integrity in claims.
- Provide expert advice to the public, third parties, and insurance companies on claims and insurance matters.
- Negotiate insurance recoveries to minimise costs and premiums.
- Offer recommendations on claims management and ensure a positive customer service experience.
- Ensure compliance with insurance policies and guidelines for various types of claims.
- Support financial compliance projects, respond to audits, and provide reports as needed.

**Skills and Experience to succeed**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field, and/or insurance qualifications
- Experience working in a finance is required, but no prior experience in the insurance industry is necessary
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and Excel skills
- Commitment to teamwork, accountability, and the core values of serving the community

**Requirements**:
