Our Metrics and Forecasting team is currently seeking to appoint a Team Leader Biodiversity Indicator Program.

The Biodiversity Indicator Program tracks the status of biodiversity and ecosystem integrity in NSW over time. Developed in collaboration with leading biodiversity experts, the program established a series of indicators to help scientists, managers and policy-makers understand the current status of biodiversity and how likely it is to change in the future. The program reports on the ongoing impacts of settlement and development, together with other threats, on the ability of our natural habitat to support biodiversity, threatened species and threatened ecological communities.

In this role, you will be leading a team of scientists to produce and deliver scientific projects to report on status and trends in biodiversity. You will leading the production of indicator report cards, supporting science and outlook reporting

**About You**

The role requires someone with a proven track record in biodiversity or ecology science. You will be leading projects in environmental monitoring, evaluation and reporting with emphasis on reporting status and trends in biodiversity.

Your core capabilities include self-management, communicating and listening, leadership, critical thinking to align the program with present and future goals. This position is at the forefront of leading and expanding the program towards a new strategic direction.

**Essential Requirements**
- Scientific qualifications, demonstrated knowledge and experience in biodiversity or ecology
- Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and guiding science teams and programs.
- Highly developed and effective communication skills, information analysis and presentation.

**Participation in the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) & BCT’s Private Land Conservation (PLC) Programs**

All new employees with an existing defined interest in the BOS will be required to disclose their personal (or a close family member’s) participation to ensure potential conflicts are managed appropriately. In some circumstances this may require divestment of the interest.

The BCT also has restrictions on staff participation in its funded PLC programs. No additional funding, beyond that already agreed to by the BCT, may be sought or approved during time as a BCT employee or for a 12-month period following termination of employment.
