Our client is a large NSW Government Organisation who are seeking Principal Policy Officer - Policy Advocacy to join their team.

The role is responsible for leading the development of evidence-based policy positions and advice that serve to enhance vocational education and influence within the Australian vocational education and training sector.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the development of public policy and reform positions and input on behalf of vocational education and training providers.
- Lead the analysis of skills policy announcements, reviews, publications, legislation and data to identify public policy trends, risks and opportunities vocational education system.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders in a structured and proactive manner on key policy issues that will impact vocational education.
- Work with the Line Manager to develop and review meaningful performance management and development plans.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent industry experience relevant to the role.
- Demonstrated high level experience in leading analysis and development of public policy positions, inputs and strategies in a complex and often confidential environment using highly developed capabilities in communication, collaboration and evidence-based analysis.
- In depth understanding of tertiary and vocational education system issues at the national and state level.

Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.On offer is a fixed-term contract at a highly sought after NSW Government Organisation, with a highly competitive daily rate.
