**About the Procurement Specialist - Direct & Indirect**:
We are looking for a **Procurement Specialist - Direct and Indirect** to join our global company - Akzo Nobel. The role will be reporting to **Procurement Manager - ANZ & PNG (Oceania)** and based at our Victorian manufacturing and office in **Sunshine North.**

As the **Procurement Specialist for ANZ & PNG**, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of purchasing and sourcing of product-related and non-product-related goods for the local stakeholders, including handling supplier issues.

**The role will see you**:

- Manage supplier relationships for the local supply base (Supplier OTIF, Forecast, Quality Notification/Resolution, Price, Payment & Invoice resolution, lead time, MOQ, SLOB Optimization, Ramp up / Ramp down programs, Escalation of supply shortages, sustainability objectives etc.)
- Provide contract management and interface with various departments on relevant supplier agreements
- Drive material cost reduction and business-critical commercial initiatives (ie. Value Engineering, ANT etc.).
- **I**dentifying opportunities for optimizing various procurement processes such as volume ordering, payment terms, tendering etc
- Assess & Implement sourcing strategies (eg. Dual sourcing, mitigate supply risk, country of origin optimize pack size) and facilitate the buying process across multiple sites and office levels
- Prevent spend leakage by reducing supplier base complexity (eg. CCS) and reducing spot buying
- Closely work across a number of functional groups/ key stakeholders (Procurement, Category Managers, Operations, RDI, Supply Chain, Finance, BU leaders etc.) and at all levels of the organization (shop floor to senior management)
- Training key stakeholders on the AkzoNobel internal buying process.

**What we are looking for**:
To be successful in this role, other than having a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Chemical, Manufacturing or related field and 3 years experience in a national buying role, we are looking for;
- Good communication skills to liaise with all levels of stakeholders and suppliers around the selection and negotiation
- Ability to plan and organize multiple priorities to ensure contracting and contract management is handled in a timely manner
- Ability to problem solve by gathering and analyzing information to make sure supplier strategy and spend analysis are met
- Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization's goals and values; benefits organization through outside activities; supports affirmative action and respects diversity.
- Ability to deliver significant sustainable business results and be an ambassador of cultural change.
- Ability to work independently with very little oversight.
