This dynamic role is with a progressive, privately-owned food processing and distribution operation based on the outskirts of Brisbane. The company has achieved steady growth and is recognised as a major supplier to retail and independent speciality outlets. Continuing investment in manufacturing plant and facilities has built pride in supplying high-quality product to consumers. This organisation has created a strong reputation in a competitive environment, keeping them at the forefront of the industry.
**About the role**
A hands-on role responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that are innovative, cost effective and incorporate the management of the growing complexities and challenges with perishable commodities across the global supply chain. This role will collaborate closely with cross functional teams to determine their product and/or service needs to provide best fit solutions.
**Duties**
- Source & engage strategic supply partners, building long-term mutually beneficial relationships
- Create & implement procurement strategies that are innovative & effective
- Prepare RFP’s, review specifications, where appropriate negotiate with suppliers
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ownership of the production plan & outcomes though process & cost initiatives
- Drive ESG including sustainability target tracking & APCO report preparation
- Liaise directly with retailers to deliver outcomes
- Weekly replenishment planning review, managing promotional & seasonal activities & demand
- Optimise inventory control & manage stocktake process
**Skills & experience**
- Relevant degree or formal CIPS or APICS associated tertiary qualifications desirable
- Minimum 5 years procurement experience - an understanding of strategic sourcing initiatives
- Contract & supplier relationship management & negotiation
- Relevant industry experience - food, FMCG with some sort of perishable commodity
- Knowledge of the sustainability packaging framework APCO
- Demand & inventory control
- Analytical skills - ability to make difficult decisions & solve complex problems

**Salary**: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
