**But enough about us, let’s talk about you**

We are in the market for an experienced civil engineer with well-developed leadership skills to lead the Design and Development Services team. Your leadership and civil engineering experience will ensure the City’s design team meets our capital works program requirements, in addition to ensuring civil infrastructure assets constructed via development activities meets our needs and specifications.

**What can you bring to the team?**
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) with at least five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Current unrestricted ‘C’ class motor vehicle licence.
- Experience in leading and managing a team consisting of technical and engineering staff to deliver civil infrastructure capital works projects.
- Developed knowledge and experience in design and project management of traffic management and municipal infrastructure projects including road, drainage, car parks, footpaths and street lighting.
- Experience in carrying out detailed engineering investigations, designs and estimates for civil infrastructure and traffic management projects.
- Experience in CAD and GIS packages such as AutoCAD, QGIS or similar software.
- Ability to design and implement business systems, policies and procedures to improve organisational asset management capacity.
- Working knowledge of Local Government budget preparation and implementation procedures
- Developed understanding of the Local Government Act, Australian Standards and other legislative requirements.
- High level leadership and coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Report writing and presentation ability.
- Ability to work across diverse service areas.
- Ability to initiate and manage change within a complex organisational environment.
- High level organisational and project management ability.
- High level negotiation and consultation skills.

**The finer details**

This permanent full-time Governance Level 9 position attracts a salary range of $111,676 to $119,094 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience and includes Restricted private use (contribution) of a City Vehicle. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
