**About the role**
- **As Rail Systems Manager, you will be accountable for**:
- Leading the WPA wide Rail Systems by providing guidance, strategy and oversight of all works undertaken by the team
- Working with Project Construction Managers in coordinating works in an efficient and best for program manner
- Promoting total job safety and environmental awareness by employees, subcontractors and all persons in the job vicinity
- Managing resources for rail systems disciplines working across multiple projects
- Continual interaction and on-site contact with employees, to ensure efficient and productive field activities
- Ensuring activities relating to quality are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, which form part of the contract
- Input into the selection of subcontractors and suppliers based on an evaluation of their ability to meet the specified requirements including those for safety, quality and environmental and ensure compliance with same
- Ensuring that subcontractors are advised of their obligations under applicable legislation, codes of practice, the Project Execution Plan and all conditions set out in the contractual documents, and that those obligations are met
- Timely submittal of financial reports, job progress reports and other site performance information as requested by the Company and the Client
- Input into the procurement and utilisation of plant resources in an efficient manner
**Requirements for this role are**:
- Industry relevant tertiary qualifications
- Minimum 10 years rail experience in construction with proven experience in a leadership position
- Competent in understanding and promoting HS&E imperatives and MMS procedures
- Proven record in planning, organising and leading a diverse labour force
- Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills, clear communication verbal and written
- Manages to time frames, cost conscious, and achievement driven
- Experience managing teams across multiple work fronts
