Located in the North and North-Eastern Suburbs of Adelaide, close to the world-famous Barossa Valley wine region, and only twenty minutes for the CBD, the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides care for more than 400 000 people at the state-of-the-art Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals, GP Plus Health Care Centre Elizabeth, GP Plus Super Clinic Modbury and several other community and home-based sites. The network boasts newly redeveloped wards and Emergency and Outpatient Departments, with plans for the addition of more brand new facilities in the near future. NALHN’s 200-strong Allied Health professionals have an integral role in multidisciplinary teams delivering exceptional care to patients in Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Department, Cardiology, Neurology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Women’s Health, Intensive Care, Outpatient Services and Hospital Avoidance across our network.

**About the Role**:

- The Allied Health Chronic Disease Intermediate Care Services bring together Dietetic, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Social Work and Case Management services working collaboratively with services from the NALHN Clinical Divisions and Aboriginal Health Services to optimise health outcomes and reduce hospital admissions for patients with Diabetes, Cardiac and Respiratory Diseases, and vulnerable people with other chronic diseases.Service delivery has a strong focus on client centred care, self-management support, behaviour change and motivational interviewing techniques, which means we listen to our clients to learn what their health concerns are, we support them in working out how they think these concerns can be best addressed and work with them in setting their own goals toward achieving this.

Our Senior multi-disciplinary team are highly regarded and extensively experienced, and offer in-house training in specialty areas, along with professional support and supervision. We actively encourage and support our staff to access professional development and training.

We have several Casual positions available across all clinical areas, which may be appointed at either AHP1 or AHP2 classification, determined by level of clinical supervision required and experience.- The Allied Health Professional (AHP1) works under direct clinical supervision and may provide direction and support to allied health assistants and students.- The Allied Health Professional (AHP2) works under limited direct clinical supervision and may provide direction and support to less experienced therapists, allied health assistants and students.- If you think you might be the perfect person to join our team, we encourage you to contact us for more information.
- To be eligible for this role you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification, usually in human movements, inclusive of the exercise physiology elective and eligible for accreditation from Exercise Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
