IMT’s Programs of work, its capabilities and technology platforms are complex. As a result there is a large number of projects undertaking design activities that are facilitated by the IMT Enterprise Architecture Group.

The position of Design Team Lead is a role within the IMT business unit to support IMT in both undertaking and facilitating designs as well as tracking the resourcing needs as well as the stages that various designs that are being undertaken across IMT are at and how they relate to a broader IMT roadmap. This role aims to be a key role in assisting the IMT Executive manager Enterprise Architecture, Analysis and Resilience.

This role will
- Facilitate, coordinate and undertake design activities that are occurring across IMT;
- Align designs against IMT’s roadmaps
- Assist with priority setting and resource allocation decisions;
- improve operational efficiency and effectiveness for delivery of outcomes; and

The IMT Design Team lead will streamline design activities across the IMT BU and will further ensure interoperability between designs which will in turn assure that roadmaps for IMT’s systems are well understood.

**Your duties will include**:

- Facilitate and coordinate the development of system level designs that are occurring across IMT.
- Work with capability and technology leads to develop sub-system level designs and to develop technology plans
- Lead a number of technical working groups.
- Be aware of activities that are occurring across the IMT Enterprise architecture group with the aim of providing backup capability to the IMT Enterprise Architecture Group lead.
- Liaise with all CSIRO IMT teams to ensure that the integrated nature of IMT systems is represented and considered in systems and technology design.
- Assist in the development of standards across the Business, Information, Application and Technology domains.

**Salary**:AU$121k - AU$142k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:
**Essential**:

- Demonstrated ability to understand and lead teams across the following considerations:
- Business architecture
- Alignment of business outcomes to Operations, Information and technology designs
- Development of information and technology designs aligned to and organisations enterprise architecture.
- Proven experience in guiding a team and deriving priorities, providing advice and mentorship and working with management.
- Demonstrated experience in development of System and Solution Design documentation in large technology engineering initiatives including diverse and dispersed data sets, complex business processes
- Experience producing simple diagrams to convey complex technical problems
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to principles of Workplace Diversity; Equal Employment Opportunity; Occupational Health, Safety and Environment; and Employee Participation.

**Desirable**:

- Experience working in a research organisation
