**About the role**
Churches of Christ Housing Services is a community housing provider, focussed on providing affordable housing for people on low incomes, are homeless or are at risk of homelessness.
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced and organised Maintenance Officer to undertake hands on mowing, gardening and property maintenance duties across multiple locations.
- Permanent, Full-Time role
- Monday - Friday work
- 5 weeks Annual leave + sick leave and public holidays paid
- All equipment and PPE provided
- $25 to $27 per hour, dependant on experience
Our Maintenance Officers perform a wide range of tasks, as part of your role, you may also be required to supervise maintenance workers, contractors or trainees. Your days will be varied, but in essence will include:
- Household and garden refuse removal;
- Record keeping and maintenance of equipment;
- General maintenance work including property repairs, basic fitting installation and cleaning.
Maintenance Officers require own transport to and from a depot location where a vehicle is provided for traveling to job sites.
**About you**
You are a reliable and hardworking individual who is motivated and enthusiastic with a positive can-do attitude. You enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team, however, you are also capable of working on your own. With your commitment to customer service and excellent general maintenance skills you resolve and respond to issues as they arise.
You have proven knowledge and physical capacity to use and maintain equipment as required by the role. Your ability to work autonomously and manage your own time is exceptional. You have a welcoming, caring, compassionate nature and are ever ready to provide support.
To be suited to this position ideally you will have:
- Experience working in a high-volume grounds maintenance team;
- A willingness to travel throughout the Ipswich/ Brisbane/ South East QLD region;
- Ability to communicate well with multiple customers;
- Experience with gardening power equipment including zero turn ride on mowers;
- General handyperson skills;
- Applied knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements, or ability to acquire same within one month of employment.
Also required:
- Working with Children Blue Card;
- QLD Drivers Licence;
- Police check.
