**Your role**

At Allens, our business teams are specialists in their field, using their unique knowledge and expertise to solve critical client and business challenges.

As a Risk & Compliance Manager in our Sydney or Melbourne office, you will identify and address risk and compliance issues across the firm and associated businesses.

You will coordinate the implementation of initiatives and strategies in alignment with our risk and compliance frameworks.

This role also provides the opportunity to spend significant time with senior Allens leaders. The role reports to our Chief Financial Officer and has regular contact with our Chief Operating Officer and Board Risk Committee.

You will:

- Ensure prompt identification and response to risk and compliance issues within the firm's operating model, adhering to best practices and the firm's enterprise-wide risk framework.
- Help continuously refine the firm's risk framework to provide consistent guidelines for risk identification, measurement, assessment, mitigation, reporting, and governance.
- Develop and implement a structured compliance framework, offering guidelines, standards, and best practices to fulfill compliance requirements effectively.
- Improve the tools and systems for monitoring risk and compliance issues within the firm, including conducting assessments, generating key risk indicator metrics, and performing analysis to support informed decision-making by senior stakeholders.
- Conduct regular audits, compliance checks, and issue-identification processes to proactively manage risks in alignment with the firm's risk and compliance frameworks.
- Provide expert compliance advice, insight, and oversight to the business, implementing policies and procedures to foster a culture of risk awareness and compliance.

**About you**

You will have:

- Previous experience in a risk and compliance role, ideally in professional services or other environments with complex governance structures.
- In-depth knowledge of risk and compliance principles, frameworks, and best practices, including experience in implementing risk and compliance policies and frameworks.
- An ability to develop risk mitigation plans to protect the firm's reputation and minimise legal liabilities.
- Experience designing and conducting audits for strategic and operational areas identified as higher risk.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive interest in the cultivation of a culture of risk and compliance.
- The ability to influence diverse groups through the delivery of presentations, documents and other modes of communication.
- A desire to learn, grow, network and mentor others.
