**About the Role**:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Ward Assistant within the Special Care Unit
- The Ward Assistant is responsible for a high standard of work, providing a timely, efficient and effective housekeeping services undertaking duties in the Women and Children’s Division as described in this duty statement.- The Ward Assistant may be required to work within several areas across the Women’s and Children’s Division. Ward Assistants at this level may have limited experience in some of the specialist areas of work, however specific knowledge can be gained through prescribed training and experience.- The Ward Assistants (those handling milk products) will work under the supervision of a Registered Midwife/Nurse to double check accuracy, identification and maintain SA Health Standards relating to storage, preparation and documentation of expressed breastmilk.- The Ward Assistant is responsible for maintenance of the patient areas and contributing to the smooth running of the unit/s by assisting where necessary.To be eligible for this position, you must have a AQF Certificate III relevant to the employee’s position (Health Support Service, Sterilisation Services, Food Handling)
