**Job Description** Day to day you will**:

- Prepare clear, accurate, balanced, well-written stories in a timely manner
- Ensure all copy meets legal requirements
- Take ownership of stories/issues and follow up stories when appropriate
- Demonstrate excellent news judgment and knowledge of current affairs
- Ensure the highest standard of accuracy, ethics and editorial quality
- Meet agreed deadlines

We are a seven-day newsroom and weekends and public holidays will be required.
**Qualifications** What we would like to see on your resume**:

- Previous experience in a major newsroom
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to deliver to tight deadline
- Proven ability to quickly respond to breaking news and an ability to identify contacts for comment
