As a Procurement team member, you will build strong relationships with Defence personnel and supplier partners with a shared focus on undertaking the procurement of equipment to support the maintenance and sustainment of facilities across Australia.

Specifically, you will support providing, replacing and repairing office and accommodation furniture and equipment as Defence modernises living and working spaces, which better promotes collaboration, flexibility and efficiency.

To succeed in this role, you will have excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate with, respond and provide advice to various stakeholders. You should possess knowledge of general finance functions and be able to exercise some discretion concerning how legislation, procedures, and guidelines are interpreted and applied at work. You will be trusted to undertake research and analysis activities to ensure you provide informed and directed administrative support to military and civilian customers across Defence.

Roles at both the APS4 and APS5 classifications are available across various sites.

APS5 - Procurement Team Leader

**Western Australia**
- Leeuwin Barracks, in East Freemantle

APS4 - Procurement Officer

**New South Wales**
- Defence Plaza Sydney, in the Sydney CBD
- Holsworthy Barracks, in Holsworthy

**Western Australia**
- Leeuwin Barracks, in East Freemantle

Current driver's licence is required, this is due to the requirement to travel to various Defence locations on a regular basis.

**About our Team**
The East & West Zone (EWZ) is a branch of the Service Delivery Division within the Department of Defence Security and Estate Group (SEG).

EWZ provides essential, on-the-ground services and support to Defence personnel at locations across New South Wales (excluding the Riverina), Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. The EWZ Other Plant & Equipment Team procures and delivers free-standing furniture and equipment for office and accommodation facilities across the Defence Estate.

This work is a critical business enabler of Defence capabilities, the long-term sustainability of the estate and ensuring the modernisation of our work and living accommodation to support our unique work. You will be part of a proactive and dynamic team that is trusted and proven, contributing to a positive service delivery culture.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- The ability to make risk-based financial decisions based on policy and procedure.
- Well-developed knowledge of procurement and or purchasing practices.
- The ability to self-motivate toward individual results that contribute to team outcomes.
