**About the role**:
**SIMEC mining has committed to take the lead in decarbonising the steel industry, with an ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030.**

We are currently in the process of expanding our Whyalla mining operations and as part of this process we require a Construction Coordinator to play a key role in supporting and managing the project from start to finish.
Based in Whyalla, this is a critical role to enable the Project Head Contractor to undertake works within our businesses operating environment.

As the Construction Project Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

- Provide coordination and site supervision for minor works activities
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts and any applicable regulations
- Provide regular updates to management on project status and any potential risks
- Provide coordination and site supervision for minor work deadlines
- Provide direction and support to the Head Contractor for all major works carried out on site as it relates to Project Safety, environmental & technical compliance with SIMEC requirements
- Ensure timely approval of site access as well as ensure site access requirements are compliant for all personnel attending site
- Ensure the relevant HS&E systems are in place, regularly updated and following the relevant legislative requirements
- Monitor contractor performance against specified HSE plan and objectives
- Managing risks related to projects and finding solutions in order to keep the project on track
- Maintain a daily diary of job status, material flow, job changes and other required control records

**About your experience**:
On the lookout for a motivated, safety and environmentally conscious individual with a strong customer/client focus.

You will have the following:

- Trade Certificate/Diploma/ Associate Diploma in Engineering preferable but not necessary
- Experience in Construction/Project Management and management
- Competent with MS Office Suite
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong communications, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively work under pressure
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
