Warrandyte Kindergarten, situated in the heart of Warrandyte, is a friendly, community-based preschool, managed by a voluntary committee of parents. We offer three
- and four-year-old kindergarten programs and an extended care program. Our program is play based, with a combination of child-initiated and adult-facilitated relationships, experiences, and interactions. **Description**
- We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher (commencing in Term 2, 2024) to provide our four-year-old group program as well as undertake the roles of Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor.
- Join a well-established Kindergarten that has been offering a high-quality educational program for families in Warrandyte and surrounds. for over 70 years.
- Our kindergarten is proud to currently rate as Exceeding National Quality Standards from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
- You will be offered above the award with 2 hours per week for Educational Leader responsibilities, 2 hours per week for Nominated Supervisor and 1.5 hours per week for extra non-contact hours. The position is classified and remunerated under the VECTEA 2020 award.
- Our kindergarten is a recent recipient of a ‘Bush Kinder’ program grant. Taking advantage of our beautiful surroundings in Warrandyte, this is an exciting opportunity to help facilitate this program from its inception, including support for professional development.

**The objectives of this position**:

- Develop and lead a team of educators to provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate educational program for the children at Warrandyte Kindergarten, based on an approved curriculum framework and our kindergarten philosophy.
- As the Nominated Supervisor, take responsibility to oversee the staff within the service, ensure the seamless operation of sessions, and compliance with child safety standards always.
- Ensure that the service meets the requirements of the Department of Education and Training (DET), Kindergarten Funding Guide; Education and Care Services National Law (National Law); Education and Care Services National Regulations (Regulations) and functions in line with approved policies, procedures, and the Quality Improvement Plan of Warrandyte Kindergarten.

**Qualifications**
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to inspire and collaborate with a team and to support continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills to foster a positive team culture, as well establishing partnerships with families.
- Qualifications suitable for an early childhood teacher under the Education and Care Services National Law. Education and Care Services National Regulations and the DET Kindergarten Funding Guide.
- Be registered as an Early Childhood Teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and continue to renew/maintain the registration during employment.
- Be able to fill the position of Nominated Supervisor in accordance with the Regulations
- Hold a current:

- approved first aid qualification,
- approved anaphylaxis management qualification and
- approved emergency asthma management qualification,
- Hold a mandatory reporting training certificate

Experience working in a standalone community run kindergarten service preferred.**Requirements**:
