**About the Role**

The Contracts Officer, under the guidance of the Senior Contracts Officer, Research Contracts, plays a pivotal role in facilitating the negotiation and execution of research agreements while providing essential commercial advice to internal stakeholders. They are tasked with managing contracts through to completion and must foster collaborative relationships within the Research Contracts team and with other RIC staff, as well as with stakeholders in Chancellery, COO-P, and Faculties to ensure smooth progression of research transactions.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Review, advise on, negotiate and finalise research agreements, seeking further legal advice or review as necessary;
- Organise approval and signing of research agreements by appropriate delegates;
- Build strong working relationships with researchers, staff within RIC, Faculty staff and external customers to ensure that RIC is easy to do business with;
**Who we are looking for**

You will also have:

- A law degree, with it being desirable that you have demonstrated experience and expertise in drafting, negotiating, and advising on contracts within a commercial or government environment;
