**Hours of work: 35hrs / week**
**Primary purpose of the role**
You will assist in the delivery of the full range of internal and external strategic communication and stakeholder engagement services within a designated region of Regional and Outer Metropolitan Division. This includes providing specialist advice and services across community consultation, communications and engagement strategies, customer information and issues management.
**Key accountabilities**
- Demonstrate the organisation's Connected Leadership dimensions by role modelling collegiate and collaborative behaviours to achieve the greater good for the community, celebrate our diverse workforce, create an environment where people can create and thrive, and support our people’s wellbeing.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate communication and stakeholder engagement strategies and plans to assist in the effective management of community information and engagement needs on infrastructure projects and programs.
- Devise, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of events, workshops, and community consultation activities to maximise community engagement outcomes and feedback including customer information; community consultation; internal communication; issues management and liaison with the media unit.
- Take a lead role working with team members to develop and maintain an integrated regional communications project milestones list/calendar while managing communications activities to time, cost, and budget.
- Contribute to the implementation of a program of building community awareness by facilitating meetings and forums and identifying ways to assist the community participate in infrastructure projects.
- Work within a matrix management structure where support services are embedded within program office delivery teams.
**Key knowledge and experience**
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and evaluate stakeholder engagement strategies, including experience in conducting public meetings and forums and using a wide range of engagement tools.
- Proven ability to proactively identify, manage and resolve conflict and issues on complex, high profile projects while working in a politically sensitive environment.
- Proven experience managing multiple external stakeholders combined with sound experience in managing project communications.
- Experience in developing communications plans involving community consultation and engagement.
- Demonstrated achievement in the development and implementation of innovative communications, issues management, information provision and stakeholder and community engagement strategies.
**Essential requirements**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in communication, engagement, media, or public relations.
