Your Role

You will be responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of the Australian Accident & Health claims teams, including Combined claims A&NZ. The role also has a matrix line responsibility across our Manila-based CBS claims team. You will drive and maintain the world class Claims service, optimising claims outcomes and improving transactional effectiveness, which means proactively working with our CBS team to achieve the same.

You will also be directly responsible for the formulation of business needs for the claims team and the implementation of those plans, whilst incorporating data in any decision.

**Your Responsibilities**:
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT

Responsible for the overall technical management of all Accident & Health claims within Chubb Insurance Australia and extends to New Zealand for our Combined operation

Responsible for technical referrals from our CBS team

Responsible for monitoring adherence to BP guidelines and GICOP

Responsible for communication with senior management within Australia

Reporting on trends to management, underwriters and actuaries, as required

Assisting Head of Claims, A&NZ in the resourcing and administration of the Accident & Health claims team

Communicating with senior brokers, insureds and other external clients on claim issues and/or complex claims, including large exposure claims

Responsible for direct contact with Disputes, Compliance and Legal on any risk, complex claim/scenarios and/or improvement area

Responsible for executing any remediation program (as confirmed) with a strong focus on stakeholder management

This role is responsible for assisting in the marketing of the Chubb brand through client interactions and meetings

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

This role is responsible for ensuring that the appropriate skills and knowledge are in place within Accident & Health to best meet business needs. This will include a mix of technical, operational, future leadership potential and service skills.

Responsible and wholly accountable to the achieving of the pass marks required for all audits and Best Practices

Responsible for the management and development of all Accident & Health claims employees

Part of the claims management team responsible for leadership of Claims within Chubb Insurance Australia and New Zealand demonstrating vision, direction and clarity at the highest level

Responsible for recruitment, retention, motivation, development and performance management of Accident & Health claims employees

CONTRACTS / VENDORS

Responsible for oversight and direction of our Third-Party Administrators and Assistance providers

Responsible for ensuring that the Accident & Health claims team utilise vendors in accordance with appropriate procedures

Responsible for tracking and reporting on the performance of our vendors

Relationship management to relevant brokers, regulatory, legislative and operational bodies

ANALYSIS SKILLS

Strong business acumen skills and understanding of the fundamental components of Chubb and insurance industry strategies and trends

Ability to analyse complex coverage, severity, legal and unique circumstances that could have elevated exposures to the organization

Exceptional technical, prioritisation and time management capabilities

Strong reporting and data analysis required for a constantly evolving operation

Ability to impact the marketplace externally through training and development and promotion of the Chubb brand

Ability to assist underwriting in product development and review of product performance in particular in regard to potential claims exposures

A very in-depth technical knowledge of all Accident & Health products and the agility to very quickly master expertise on new products, whether new to Chubb or new to the marketplace

**Qualifications**:
Your Skills & Experience

10 years + insurance experience

Outstanding industry and market knowledge

Highly developed claims expertise

Outstanding relationship management abilities

Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret complex financial reports

Very strong Accident & Health technical expertise

Educated to degree level or equivalent industry experience and qualifications (ACII or ANZII equivalent qualifications are desirable)
