**The Opportunity**

The Toowoomba Regional Council services a growing regional population of approximately 170,000 and employs a dedicated team of more than 1700 staff who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service to the community, residents and visitors throughout the region. An exciting senior management opportunity currently exists for a
**Manager Fleet and Logistics** to lead and manage the Fleet and Logistics Branch operations whilst providing high quality specialist advice to internal customers regarding financial sustainability metrics, industry benchmarks and industry best practices.

**Manager Fleet and Logistics** will coordinate and deliver organisational fleet services by centrally managing fleet procurement and logistics, and associated maintenance services.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Managing the day-to-day activities of the Branch ensuring cost effectiveness and business outcomes are achieved. Your success in managing the Fleet and Logistics Department is critical in ensuring Council meets its corporate goals and continues to thrive and service our growing community.
- Managing the Branch operational and capital budget and developing and promoting funding forecasts and business proposals
- Developing, implementing and maintaining key drivers/indicators relative to fleet services and strategically planning for asset acquisition, utilisation, lifecycle management and disposal
- Empowering, motivating, developing and providing direction to staff within the Branch
- Leading the future of fleet by investigating and investing in technological and innovative fleet options, and developing and fostering the centrally managed, regionally delivered approach to fleet logístical operations
- Developing risk mitigation strategies and operational plans to assist with effective fleet management

**Key Skills and Experience**
- A relevant degree and/or post-graduate qualifications in a technical field or related discipline and/or substantial relevant high-level management experience in fleet and logistics, in a related industry or government
- Demonstrated leadership ability in developing staff, change management and providing financial, human resources, safety, specialised technical and professional and/or administrative advice on policy matters
- Excellent financial management skills including the ability to develop and implement techniques, work practices and procedures
- Substantial knowledge and understanding of legislation applicable to fleet practices and/or local government with an ability to manage projects within identified timelines, budgetary and legislative provisions/guidelines.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to initiate and formulate extensive works programs

The successful applicant will be rewarded with a supportive and progressive work environment and will be engaged on an Executive 3-year renewable contract. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated upon appointment.
