- 1 x Ongoing role
- Salary ranges from $106,025, to $ 117,363 plus super and annual leave loading
- The primary office location for these positions is in Parramatta. Whilst we offer a variety of flexible working arrangements, you will need to be willing to attend the office periodically for collaboration opportunities with team members.

**About the role**
As a Policy Officer in the Reforms and External Relations Directorate, you will be conducting analysis on current national and international trends, information, and data to provide advice and develop policy proposals to support the best outcomes for all learners in schooling and vocational education and training.

No two days are alike in this role, and you will find yourself responsible for different activities including:

- Synthesising information in a timely manner to contribute to the development of strategic national policy and advice
- Undertaking analysis to support informed policy proposals, considering its impact, different stakeholder perspectives, and risks
- Preparing high quality briefings, speaking notes and correspondence

**Your skills and experience**
- Understanding of public policy and government functions and processes
- Demonstrated experience in analysis and advice to support informed policy decision-making, including proficiency in Excel
- You enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same and are looking for an opportunity to challenge the status quo by developing creative solutions to resolve issues
- You are proactive and have an inquiring mindset
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

**Essential requirements**
- Economics or related finance related degree
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
