Lime Recruitment is currently working with a Queensland government department to recruit an Instructional Designer & Trainer contract to 30/06/2024 with possible extension based in the Brisbane CBD and working from home.

The Instructional Designer & Trainer is responsible for planning and executing clear, timely and effective learning strategies, plans and content necessary to assist with the achievement of business transformation objectives, benefits, and desired business outcomes.

**In this role you will**:

- Project management of learning programs through their life cycle from concept to completion working within tight timeframes, individually and as a team member to achieve business unit goals.
- Use your experience and knowledge in instructional design concepts for the development and facilitation of training activities and assessments to support the learning strategies building capability in the department’s water business.
- Use authoring software (e.g., Articulate 360) to design, create and maintain learning programs within eLearning platforms (e.g., iLearn), information management systems and data sources to support training and development activities.
- Provide timely and quality information and advice, including written and verbal presentations, project management updates and reports, and learning material design documents.
- Effectively partner with stakeholders to evaluate business area training needs and interpret processes and procedures to produce quality training products.
- Undertake research, analysis and interpretation of legislation, policies, and procedures to support development of learning material.
- Review and update learning materials for currency and relevancy.
- Co-design organisation and people focused learning strategies and plans to enable the business to transform to future ways of working.
- Provide ‘train-the-trainer’ coaching to the business champions to enable the business to deliver training to staff.
- Collaborate with program product leads, project managers, change managers and business analysts on the planning, design, and implementation of a learning strategies, plans and materials.
- Undertake the role in accordance with the requirements of s26(1) of the Public Service Act 2008 and always ensure that the principles as found in the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service are upheld in the carrying out of all duties.

**You will have**:

- Expert knowledge of adult learning principles and adult learning facilitation.
- Experience in instructional design concepts, and development of eLearning activities and assessments.
- Ability to assess business training needs and prepare supporting training materials.
- Training design and documentation development.
- Training administration, facilitation, and delivery.
- Proficient in working with Articulate 360 and all Microsoft Office products.
- Good problem-solving skills that support the ability to adapt and operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Building positive working relationships at all levels in the organisation.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (e.g., iLearn).
- Demonstrated experience in writing accessible, user-friendly web content that is WCAG 2.1 AA compliant for Government websites. You will have knowledge of the Australian Style Manual and experience with the Queensland Government’s Web writing and style guide.
- Practical experience with delivering in a Prince 2 and Agile program and project environment with the associated management practices and deliverables
