The Financial Crime Operations (FCO) team is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing leadership of the Group’s financial crime shared services, focusing on systems, people and processes to effectively counter origination and transaction fraud and money laundering through effective detection, assessment and escalation of financial crime matters.

The AML and Sanctions Operations team is responsible for the detection, prevention, assessment, and escalation of the Groups AML and Sanctions events to effectively counter money laundering, terrorism financing and sanctions risks across CBA.

The AML and Sanctions team operates in a highly regulated environment. The purpose of the Specialised Manager Transaction Monitoring role is to lead the team responsible for detection and reporting of money laundering and terrorism financing activity for Institutional Banking and Markets transactions. The team plays a vital role in managing the Group’s exposure to money-laundering and terrorism financing risks. The team is looking to hire a manager within this highly specialised role be based in Sydney and to start asap. They are looking for managers with financial crime experience or experienced managers that have lead a team in the Institutional Banking and Markets business unit.

**_In Any Given Week You Will Be Responsible For _**
- Manage the planning, execution and completion of AML/TF monitoring services for Institutional Banking and Markets transactions.
- Manage resources to assess AML/CTF alerts in accordance with agreed timeframes.
- Communicate matters as relevant/appropriate and in accordance with agreed escalation reporting processes
- Ensure collation and security of necessary information and evidence to enable effective assessment of incidents and work in collaboration with the investigations team as required
- Provide statistics, analysis and commentary for reports as required and update Bank systems accordingly

**_We're Interested In Hearing From People Who _**
- Strong Institutional Banking and Markets product knowledge including derivatives, debt securities, commodities and FX/MM. Experience in Wallstreet and Murex systems is highly desirable.
- Sound understanding of AML/CTF within the banking and finance industry.
- Must have either a strong financial crime experience within a manager type role or strong operational leadership experience in Institutional Banking and Markets area.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions and solve problems to achieve optimum outcomes
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated ability to manage and engage people effectively.
