Based out of our Hastings corrugated manufacturing site, **The Commercial Manager** will be responsible for providing financial and commercial support and insights to the General Management of the Business.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

- Working with senior Managers to identify key business drivers with a view to cost improvement programs.
- High quality, relevant efficient information to aid informed decision making.
- Contributing to overall operational & strategic business planning.
- Monitoring and ensuring accurate processes around physical stock valuations whilst ensuring appropriate measures are in place and adhered to for the control of inventory.
- Ensuring stock takes are conducted in accordance with Accounting Policies and performed in a timely and accurate manner.
- In consultation with Site Operations and Sales Managers preparing accurate and timely annual budget and monthly forecasts.
- In consultation with the Sites Sales, Operations Managers, and Packaging Engineers drive process and cost improvements throughout by co-ordinating, instigating and reporting on the cost saving initiatives of the business.

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;
- High level of integrity - Demonstrates exemplary ethical behaviours and is recognised as a role model for co-workers to emulate.
- CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualified - ideal, not essential
- Analytically advanced - financial modelling skills
- Strong communication, business partnering, stakeholder engagement skills - the ability to influence challenging stakeholders (non-finance in particular)
- Commercially savvy with an ability to develop an in-depth understanding of key business drivers
- Solid budgeting and forecasting experience
- Good at manipulating large sets of data.
