As a member of The City of Port Philip’s Independent Living Team you WILL make a difference.
You will use your excellent home maintenance and handyperson skills to ensure older adults and people who need assistance with daily living are able to maintain their independence at home and in the community.

**What does success look like in this role?**
- You will undertake a range of household repairs, home maintenance tasks and home modifications that support people who need assistance to live independently.
- You will be great at getting jobs done quickly, safely and cost effectively.

- Workplace health and safety will be one of your highest priorities

**The things we really need in this role look like**:

- Relevant professional trade qualifications or accredited industry-based certificate
- Prior experience and ability to undertake general interior and exterior home maintenance, gardening and general repairs
- Skills in using tools, plant and machinery
- Kindness, care and great communication skills
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety

**Some Mandatory Requirements that you will need for this role are**:

- Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID 012 (previous 004)
- Current CPR HLTAID 001
- Current Working with Children's Check Card
- Victorian Drivers Licence and VicRoads licence verification
- A pre-employment medical check

- evidence of mandatory qualifications/registrations/licences,
- proof of their right to work in Australia,

- agreement to complete a National Police Check via City of Port Phillip’s Provider
- evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption in line with City of Port Phillip Vaccination Policy
- evidence of a Working with Children Check (employee type with City of Port Phillip registered as the organisation),
- outcomes of a pre-employment medical check that indicate you are physically able to undertake this work
