**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Mercy Hospital for Women cares for a diverse population. Our Multicultural Services team is focused on improving health equity for migrant and refugee patients who access our services.
- African Liaison & FARREP worker is responsible for providing culturally appropriate support and information to women and their families of African backgrounds, including those who have experienced female genital cutting (FGC).They also undertake health promotion activities in relation to FGC with the primary focus on building capacity of health professionals to provide appropriate care to those affected by FGC.
- Permanent part-time position (job share), 12 hours per week, Thursday and Friday.
- Based at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg

**ABOUT YOU:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, e.g. Community Development, Social Sciences, Health, Education
- Experience in working with migrant and refugee communities and delivering cross-cultural training to health professionals
- Demonstrated understanding of African women's sexual and reproductive health issues including FGC
- Ability to work independently and in a multicultural team
- Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills and self-motivation
- Experience in patient/client management systems is highly desirable
