**About the role**

The position of Operations Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of safety, performance, resourcing and team leadership for specified operational areas and/or operational processes. This includes supervising all activities and resources associated with the area/shift to achieve agreed objectives, optimising profitability and business efficiency with a strong customer focus (DIFOT), in a safe and engaging manner.

Critical to this role is the ability to plan and coordinate daily activities, as well as motivating and holding team members to account. This position plays an important role in achieving daily KPI’s and identifying / actioning process improvements, along with engaging support from other functional leads.

**What you’ll do**
- Ensure customer focus is present in all activities undertaken by the team, at all times considering the impact on customer service delivery in decision-making.
- As a member of the site leadership team, proactively lead the team/workgroup by setting and maintaining work standards and behaviours, holding team members to account.
- Display a Continuous Improvement approach to constantly define more efficient and effective ways of working, increasing productivity and ensuring safety.
- Manage workflow in area of responsibility, at all times ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed and meet timeframes, productivity levels and other KPIs.
- In line with delegated authority, coordinate, direct and deploy resources (labour, equipment) to ensure operational, productivity, commercial, and customer requirements are met.
- First-level engagement with team members on performance, conduct and productivity issues, absenteeism, leave requirements and associated matters.

**What you’ll bring**
- Ability to build strong functional relationships with functional reports, peers and senior management.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams with a focus on daily performance accountability and consequence management.
- Collaborative orientation, balancing the need for action with the need for buy in / engagement.
- Understanding of the Transport Industry and knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to role.
- Analytically minded with good problem-solving skills and commitment to Continuous Improvement.
- Understanding and familiarity with KPIs and their use in monitoring and managing an operation.
- Strong capability in managing and maintaining relationships with management and supervisory teams.
- Sound conflict resolution, people management, coaching, training and presentation skills.
