Brisbane, Australia De Beers Group of Companies Full time

**Company Description
- Join us as a Safety Graduate if you are ready to take the first step towards a successful career in the mining industry.**

**Anglo American**
Our ambition is to be the most valued mining company in the eyes of our shareholders, driven by the purpose to re-imagine mining to improve people’s lives.

**Steelmaking Coal**
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground Steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.

**Job Description**:

- As a Graduate Safety within Anglo American you will learn how to deliver best practice safety services and support to the mine. You will support our Zero Harm vision, ensuring compliance with all safety systems and legislation. You will have the opportunity and guidance in this role to contribute to the effective management of safety and technical projects. You will actively engage daily with all Anglo Americans Teams, in addition to others across our business, to ensure processes are safely optimised and continuously increasing operational efficiency.

This is a permanent opportunity for graduates who want to have a smarter future within mining. Initially, you will be offered a two-year graduate program with Steelmaking Coal rotating to one or more of our sites located across Queensland (two twelve-month placements). You have the chance to make a difference in real projects and work across open cut and underground mining.

If you are ready to make the most of everything you’ve learned so far, be challenged, work together with industry leaders, and be a part of a supportive and a vibrant Graduate community, then Anglo American is ready for you

**Qualifications
- To qualify for the Anglo American Graduate Program, you must**:

- Have a degree or postgraduate degree (Honours or Masters) in disciplines relevant to Safety (Safety, Incident Investigation, Human Factors, Risk Management or similar).
- Have completed your degree within the last 2 years or are due to graduate by December 2023
- Have no more than two years of relevant work experience.
- Be a team player with strong leadership potential.
- Demonstrate drive, ambition and a passion for challenging work in our operations.
- Be available/willing to work in remote areas of Central Queensland as part of the Graduate Program (relocation package provided).

**Additional Information
- What to Expect**
- The first stage of the recruitment process is a review of your CV.
- Should you pass the initial screening stage, you will be invited to complete an on-demand video interview and game based psychometric test where we will test your motivations and competencies for the role.

**Background checks**

**What we Offer**
When you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package. But more than this, you’ll find yourself in an environment where the opportunities for learning and growth are second to none. From technical training to leadership programmes, we bring out the best in our people. There are plenty of opportunities to move onwards and upwards too. We’re a large, successful multinational company - and we’re still growing all the time.

**Inclusion and Diversity**
At Anglo American, we embrace change and promote an inclusive and diverse environment where you can bring your whole self to work, every day. We are adopting new approaches to recruitment, talent development, mentoring, parental leave, and flexible working to further support diversity across our business.

**How we are committed to your safety**
Nothing is more important to us than ensuring you return home safely after a day’s work. To make that happen, we have the most rigorous safety standards in the industry. Not only that, we’re also continually investing in new technologies - from drones to data analytics - that are helping to make mining safer.
