**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The Tradesperson - Greenkeeper will undertake a range of activities that deliver specialist services in the maintenance of Council’s Recreational Assets at Council's Golf Courses ensuring these assets are in excellent condition, safe and suitable for use by the community. This role will also assist in ensuring customer and community satisfaction with Councils parks and recreation operations are met. You will be responsible in undertaking turf maintenance and operating small plant and equipment to ensure a high standard of work quality.
The successful applicant will require:
- Relevant trade qualifications e.g. Trade Based Apprenticeship, Certificate III in Turf Management Parks and Gardens, Horticulture, or Landscape Construction,
- Demonstrated experience in sports turf maintenance, current trends, industry best-practice and new developments relating to open space maintenance services
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate resources and undertake best practice turf maintenance and renovation activities, including but not limited to turf care and site maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience in operating parks maintenance related small plant and equipment, including small hand tools, and power tools.
- Demonstrated ability to deal in a positive and courteous manner with the public and other staff at all times
- Sound verbal and written communication skills - ability to write clearly and neatly when completing necessary paperwork
- Ability to work as part of a team and with contractors, having good interpersonal skills
- Hold a current ‘ChemCert’ (Chemical Handling) qualification
- Hold a current General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (white card)
- Sound Computer Skills and ability to adapt to new systems and operate a range of devices
- Possess a current Class C drivers Licence
- Competency in the operation of at least one or more of the following items of plant:
- Large Tractors
- Front-deck or mid-mount mowers

**Position information**: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement working 5:00am to 1:30pm.
This role is predominantly located at Council's Auburn Golf Course, with occasional travel required across Council worksites including Woodville Golf Course, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.
**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 7 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,162.65 to $1,337.04 per week, plus 10.5% superannuation
- Access to overtime on work completed on the weekend
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
