The Role
An opportunity has become available for two Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Administration Officer's (Identified) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Complete general administration duties including but not limited to admitting, discharging and transferring patients
- Complete accurate patient information into hospital based computer system
- Provide effective and cooperative communications by responding appropriately to customer enquiries at reception and within the work area
- Manage patient referrals, organise and book outpatient appointments where appropriate
- Conduct patent interviews to verify information and financial details to complete new arrival Patient Election Forms

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community
- Whilst not mandatory, a sound knowledge of the HBCIS system is highly desirable
- Whilst not mandatory, the ability to work in a busy clinical environment is highly desirable
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Permanent full time and permanent part time (one full time position and one part time position, 30.4 hrs p.f)
- Base salary ranging from $68 740 - $76 828 or $34.66 - $38.74 per hour

About Us
This position will work in collaboration with Identified and non-identified Midwives, Child Health Nurses, Health Workers and will work closely with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community of the Gold Coast.
Waijungbah Jarjums Group Practice is a continuity of care service that provides primary care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families in collaboration with other health care providers across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and the post-partum period.
Millerri-Nyumbarlian Group Practice provides midwifery led care to women who need additional navigation through the hospital system and may have co-morbidities such as a history with alcohol and other drugs and/or mental health. Based in Southport.
