An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Specialist Palliative Care Service to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to address specialist palliative care needs for consumers across Sunshine Coast Health as well as leading a number of statewide services and projects. A number of services are provided including community, inpatient, outpatient, consultation liaison and telehealth services.
A particular focus of this role relates to SPaRTa.
- The Specialist Palliative Rural Telehealth Service (SPaRTa) provides an interdisciplinary specialist palliative care consultancy service to rural and remote settings across Queensland.
- The Sunshine Coast provides a clinical team that delivers care across Wide Bay HHS, Central Queensland HHS,and Central West HHS. The Sunshine Coast SPARTA team will also serve rural areas of the SCHHS Specialist Palliative Care Service.
- Work in this role will be undertaken through collaboration and consultation with the Medical Director of SCHHS SPCS and the Clinical Leader of SPaRTa.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Public Service values.
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
