**About the Role**:
The Acute Medical Unit provides rapid assessment of undifferentiated patients and is equipped to provide intermediate higher acuity clinical level care to patients. The Acute Medical Unit Consultant Medical staff may be a consultant physician or other suitably trained, credentialed and registered specialist.

The position will involve rotations through General Medical Units and the Acute Medical Unit and Noarlunga Health Service at SALHN as well as specified units and sites both within and outside SALHN which are staffed by SAHLN. The role of the consultant is to show clinical leadership, through knowledge, skills, teamwork, mentoring and organisational skills in all aspects of the delivery of medical care of patients referred from the Emergency Department, other hospitals, or from the community.

**About you**:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.- Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
- Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in General Medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
