**About the team**:
Questacon is seeking Program Delivery Officers for delivery roles in the National Touring Programs team, within the Science and Learning branch. These roles are responsible for STEM program delivery in a range of formats, including facilitating activities, presenting, and performing.

These roles are based in Canberra, but will involve regular travel across Australia, often for several weeks at a time.

**National Programs Team**

The National Programs team delivers a range of hands-on & interactive STEM activities to increase student and community engagement with science, technology, engineering, and maths. Activities include student workshops, science shows, pop-up science centres and professional learning. Activities are delivered in-person or via video conference to audiences in Canberra and throughout metropolitan, regional and remote parts of Australia.

Activities include:

- Innovation workshops for high-school students - STEM challenges designed to develop student inquiry and problem solving skills, communication and confidence
- Questacon Science Circus primary-school science shows - captivating performances for students showcasing some of the wondrous science in the world around them
- Pop-up science centres - supporting regional communities to have a taste of Questacon, with hands-on exhibits and spectacular science shows to engage the whole family
- Skill development workshops for educators - in-person and video conference workshops supporting the development of inquiry based learning techniques
- Have qualifications or relevant expertise in one or more of the following or related fields:

- Science
- Engineering
- Science Communication
- Education
- Design and Technology
- Computer Science and Cyber Security
- Drama and Theatre
- Have demonstrated experience delivering one or more of the following to a variety of audiences:

- Activity-based workshop facilitation
- Science demonstrations, presentations, and performance
- Live video conference workshops, presentations, or activities
- Be an effective communicator who can engender enthusiasm in their audience and tailor their presentation style to meet their audience’s needs
- Be able to work proactively as an individual and collaboratively as a member of a team
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and build productive working relationships
- Work positively and productively in a changing work environment and under pressure
- Identify and mitigate risks that will impact on own, and team, work outcomes
- Contribute new ideas and maximise the benefits of change, including the identification of opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes

In addition, Program Delivery Officers will also have the ability to live and work with a small team in modest accommodation away from home base, including extensive driving in regional areas.

**What you will do**:
These roles will be involved in the delivery and development of Questacon engagement programs and associated activities. Working consistently with the expectations for an APS Level 4 in the APS Work Level Standards, Program Delivery Officers will:

- Deliver high quality programs for a variety of audiences across Australia, using a range of styles, media, tools and technologies
- Assist with the development, testing and evaluation of new content, activities and delivery methods
- Support the logistics and preparation required for touring to regional and remote locations as well as other delivery activities
- Provide open communication to all team members, including giving and receiving feedback and effectively contributing as part of a team
- Provide clear and concise communication to a range of external stakeholders about programs
- Adhere to policies and procedures and undertake regular in-house training to ensure both the ongoing safety and high quality of programs. This includes the safe use of tools and other equipment
- Have strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to use initiative and work under mínimal supervision
- Work within Australian Government guidelines (e.g. Workplace Health and Safety, APS Values and Code of Conduct), and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

**Eligibility**:

- Hold (or be able to hold) a current registration issued under the Working With Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 and maintain this registration for the duration of employment
