At BCE our teachers are required to:

- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

**About our school**: St Mary’s Primary School is situated in the historic Queensland provincial city of Ipswich, 35 km from Brisbane CBD. Our mission is to make Jesus real every day in the small things we do and say.

Our beautiful, historical architecture of sandstone buildings are a visual reminder that quality Catholic Education has been delivered on our site for over 150 years. We are a co-educational school with a current enrolment of 578 students from Prep through to Year 6. **_Do I have to be Catholic?_**
All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.

Our teachers of Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school. Not accredited to teach in a Catholic school yet? That’s okay, BCE will support you to achieve this through your professional development after you start with us.
