**Your role**

The NSW Ageing and Disability Commission protects and promotes the rights of adults to protect them from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Our Helpline Consultants respond to reports and enquiries relating to allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults with disability and older people.

As a Helpline Consultant, you will respond to reports by providing high quality advice and support, including undertaking risk assessments in order to safeguard older people and adults with disability from abuse in their family, home and community.

**What you’ll do**
- Receive and respond to reports and enquiries about abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults with disability and older people, providing information, advice and referrals while educating the community.
- Identify risks including emergencies and promptly respond to protect the safety and wellbeing of adults with disability and older people.
- Provide early case coordination with the client, service providers and other relevant parties to coordinate an appropriate response.
- Maintain sensitivity when responding to complex and emotionally fraught concerns of abuse.
- Collect and provide clear, concise, and accurate records and case information for assessments, reporting, and information sharing to support investigations.
- Contribute to community engagement activities to encourage the prevention, identification and responses to abuse, neglect and exploitation of adults with disability and older people.
