**Location**: Parramatta, NSW

**Overview**
The role provides high-quality legal advice, guidance and support in complex areas of law relating to Estate Management. The advice, guidance and support ensures the provision of high quality, efficient and effective services to customers and stakeholders where NSW Trustee & Guardian is appointed as Financial Manager or undertakes its statutory obligations in relation to Private Financial Managers.

**Key accountabilities/responsibilities**:

- Provide advice to senior management and staff in accordance with legislation, case law, policy, guidelines and practice standards to contribute to consistent, quality services being delivered to customers.
- Undertake research, guide and support staff to ensure delivery of quality professional services and foster a culture of professional development and continual improvement.
- Interpret, analyse and prepare complex documents such as advice, submissions, briefings, and court documents.
- Advise on complex matters and liaise with stakeholders across NSW Trustee & Guardian in relation to the provision of legal services and conduct litigation before Courts and/or Tribunals and general legal work.
- Contribute to the development and review of operational standards and practices, policies, systems, procedures, manuals, precedents and processes.
- Development and delivery of training to staff within the Estate Management division to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective and efficient professional services to customers.
- Comply with practice management standards, policies and procedures, including accurately and contemporaneously recording time spent on legal work.

**Essential requirements**:

- Legal Qualifications and must be admitted to practice and have a current NSW practicing certificate.
- Experience in estate planning and estate litigation would be advantageous.
