Macquarie University Hearing are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Coordinator to provide project management and research coordination and support for a novel Neurodiversity program within our Discovery Pillar Hearing agenda.

THE ROLE- Salary Package: from $93,017 to $102,676 (HEW Level 6) p.a., plus 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading- Appointment Type: part-time time 14 hours per week, fixed term for 2 years- Location: Macquarie University Wallumattagal Campus (North Ryde) location

The Role

Macquarie University Hearing are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Coordinator to provide project management and research coordination and support for a novel Neurodiversity program within our Discovery Pillar Hearing agenda.

Our impactful Neurodiversity Program has the broad primary goal of exploring listening and the listening brain in neurodivergent groups including those with autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, and acquired listening problems resulting from for example exposure to loud sounds. By developing a holistic model of listening, from biophysical processes to behaviours, the program aims to understand communication difficulties experienced by neurodivergent listeners, develop new communication strategies tailored to individual listener’s needs, bridge performance gap between current and future listening technologies and interventions and provide a framework for exploring how humans experience the sensory world through sound.

Reporting to the Macquarie University Hearing Academic Director, as the successful applicant you will:
- Support the planning, implementation and reporting requirements for the important Neurodiversity program and its activities.-
- Undertake research, collect and analyse data and information, and make recommendations to the project team and stakeholders to make informed decision on Neurodiversity program deliverables.- Build and manage relationships with the project team, stakeholders, external hearing service providers and participants- Identify, resolve and/or escalate risks and issues in the Neurodiversity program to achieve outcomes.- Prepare research data documents and reports for presentation and publication.

About You

You will be a motivated and driven individual with a commitment to delivering high level project management support and expertise. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build effective relationships with stakeholders. You will be familiar with the human ethics guidelines and hold experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research methodology including patient recruitment, working on epidemiological surveys and/or clinical trials.

To Apply

Essential- Tertiary qualifications in a research
- or health-related discipline- Knowledge of project management principles and tools- Experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research methodology including patient recruitment, working on epidemiological surveys and/or clinical trials- Computer skills including MS Office (particularly Word and Excel), Internet, and database management- Experience in preparing communications and project reports- Building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of key internal and external stakeholders to achieve project deliverables- Experience in preparing communications and project reports- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.

Desirable- Masters and/or PhD qualifications in a relevant health-related or research field- Knowledge of human ethics guidelines- Experience using statistical software such as SPSS
