**Our Parks and Recreation Planning Department,** part of the wider Infrastructure Planning Directorate. The PRP Department comprises three teams - Landscape Design, Urban Design and Sport and Recreation - and is responsible for the planning and design of Council’s open space estate.
- The Landscape Design team is responsible for planning and design of landscapes including parks, playgrounds and natural areas from local to regional scale.
- The Urban Design Team is responsible for planning and design of landscapes including streetscapes and urban civic spaces from local to regional scale.
- The Sport and Recreation team is responsible for planning and design of organised sports facilities, fields and areas for outdoor recreation.

An exciting opportunity exists for a **Landscape and Open Space Designer** in our Parks and Recreation Planning (PRP) Department. You will work to deliver exceptional customer service to our community while contributing our teams creative and innovative values. As a member of our team you will assist in providing high level and technical design services and advice in relation to our projects.

We work closely with the other teams in the PRP and provide a great opportunity for growth. Our Landscape Architectural services include a diverse set of responsibilities and the role is accountable for site and landscape planning studies, preparation of briefs, and preliminary cost estimates, for a range of open space projects.

You will have the opportunity to cross collaborate as well as work within each team where projects permit or require.

You will provide effective solutions to landscape design matters with an emphasis on current and future community needs and financial, social and environmental sustainability. You will be creative, dynamic with an eye for design details, high level graphic skills and open to collaborate with a highly engaged and talented team.

**About you**

We are seeking people with strong relationship building and stakeholder management and engagement skills, experience in timely and effective delivery and development of concepts, detailed design, design reports and construction packages.

You will hold a degree in design (landscape architecture) or equivalent and current or future eligibility for registration with Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture (AILA).
