About the role The Budget Strategy and Reporting Lead will play a key role in the consideration, planning and implementation of budget and reporting strategy measures, program budgeting and other reforms. This position will support the provision of financial insight to drive strategy, performance and reporting, including the research and development of recommendations, options and solutions to financial, budget and reporting issues, including complex financial policy implementation to designated client groups within the department and the broader portfolio.
- Clear understanding of government and budget and reporting processes and how they relate to the development and delivery of government initiatives, priorities and commitments
- Previous experience in developing strong and positive relationships with stakeholders in a business partnering environment; uses understanding of the stakeholder's organisational context to ensure outcomes are achieved; communicates and actively manages key stakeholders at a level appropriate to current work
- Ability to lead, motivate, guide and develop team capabilities in order to achieve branch goals. Understands core people competencies required for the organisation to meet its goals and executes people management plans that contribute to planned objectives. Translates organisational strategy into meaningful long-term plans and objectives for own area of responsibility
