**About the role**:
The Customer Networks Metro team is looking for two Senior Planners and one Planner to be part of the team that is supporting the planning and delivery of integration/conveyance works required under the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant Program of Works.

The Senior Planners and Planner will work as part of a team to drive the planning and scoping of integration works that will include projects across various asset types including trunk mains, pump stations, regulating valves, re-chlorination systems and other network assets. This is a 2-year contract based in our Leederville office.

**What the role will involve**:
**Development Phase**
- Identifies planning/modelling input requirements and coordinates with other WC stakeholders to collect and validate these inputs in a timely manner.
- Develops/updates models for the IWSS and/or sub-systems to incorporate new elements and inputs (demands, operating rules etc) needed to simulate future scenarios.
- Applies modelling tools to complete scenario modelling and maintain a systemised approach to the recording and storage of scenario results.
- Interprets scenario modelling results with the assistance of the Planning Lead, to draw conclusions on future IWSS operating strategy, new asset requirements, changes to existing operational settings etc and refines and repeats scenario modelling where opportunity exists to optimise system level outcomes by changes to planned assets or operational settings.
- Prepares documentation for the modelling inputs, scenarios and results and identifies system operation and control requirements for the future scenarios and documents/communicates these requirements.
- Assists with the definition of technical scope, cost estimate etc for integration projects and supports the development of information needed to transition these projects into the Development phase.
- Attends project team meetings and discussions to coordinate activities.
- Responsible for the timely delivery of tasks - able to work independently or with limited supervision and accountable for tracking progress of activities against a high-level project schedule with reporting to the Planning Lead.

**Engineering phase**
- Provides planning support to ensure that the planning intent is understood and reflected in engineering designs prepared by Consultants
- Provides planning support on technical queries that arise during Engineering
- Provides ongoing modelling support, if constraints are identified during Engineering that warrant review of system-level decisions and requirements
- Supports the Project Manager as needed on project approvals, business case development, etc

**Key skills and experience**:

- Degree level qualified in an engineering field
- Experienced Planning Engineers capable of working independently within a team structure that have prior experience in planning and modelling.
- Ability to steer the development of future asset investments and IWSS operating strategy and can manage progress of their activities and meeting milestones for delivery of results.
- Have experience with modelling tools and understand modelling principles (model development, model variation / calibration, scenario management, presentation of results, etc).
- A sound understanding of the IWSS and its operation would be considered highly beneficial.
