**About the role**

The role will report to the Senior Manager - Work Health and Safety and will assist in the development of the VMCH Manual Handling Strategy. The OHS Advisor - Manual Handling will be responsible for reviewing and implementing sustainable programs and solutions to prevent and/or reduce risks associated with manual handling tasks and workplace injuries across At Home Aged Care, Disability and Accommodation Services. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the broader Work Health and Safety team and Allied health team members undertaking similar roles in Residential Aged Care. This role with require travel in both the Melbourne Metropolitan area, as well as in regional Victoria.

**About you**

You are passionate about workplace health and safety and display enthusiasm for driving health and wellbeing initiatives.

Previous roles have provided hands-on experience with training or coaching frontline staff, ideally within disability services or at home aged care. You are familiar with adult learning principles and take pride in designing and delivering engaging training programs.

You are natural people-person with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build trust and form positive relationships.

Equally, you are analytical, have strong research skills and previous experience in conducting Risk Assessments and developing Safe Work Method Statements.

**The ‘must haves’**
- Relevant qualification in Allied Health or OHS and manual handling expertise
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Completion of the O’Shea Trainer Training program or similar (or a willingness to obtain)
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and the ability to travel to regional Victoria as needed
